Lennox Lewis was so under rated Mohammed Ali was the don but there Is only one man who for me In my era brought boxing to life more than any other and that is Iron Mike Tyson he smacked like no other.

Re: Your favourite boxers
Did paq make Marquez fight at a catch weight ? it was more the way Floyd imposed his will on Marquez , and won the fight convincingly fighting on the backfoot , i am guessing at a similar outcome on cinco de mayo ..

on a side note , any ideas on the undercard , there's sure to be some tasty match ups...

id like to see garcia broner , as they are in the same weight class atm

Marquez was an orthodox who jumped up 3 weight classes to fight the king of boxing and could not carry the weight

Mayweather is a genius at making you walk onto his punches, wont be easy trying that on with an awkward southpaw who carries speed and punch power in abundance

Fully expect it to go right down to wire with either bloke taking it 115-113 on the scorecards

Re: Your favourite boxers
i not so sure , i think it will be a systamatic points victory for floyd.

Floyds demolition of marquez is significant for me , i watched it again the other night , he will counter Manny all night , and win on points as per normal.

Boxing needs May 2nd to go well. If the fight lives up to expectations it will bring back a lost audience. If after 6 years of 24/7 hype it ends badly like so many of these recent super fights I genuinely fear for the sport

I`m optimistic that Pacquiao will walk him down, steal early rounds and eventually force Floyd into the centre of the ring and that it`ll all end with a September rematch which will be hyped even bigger than this is

Anybody who doesn't say Marvin Hagler has something wrong with them.

An almost perfectly round head.

Alot of the top boxers in America are managed/promoted by Al Haymon. He tends to overly protect his 'investment' by avoiding competitive fights.

Re: Your favourite boxers
Barring the great heavyweight division of the 70s the British super middleweights of Watson, Benn, Eubank and the paddy Collins plus a few exciting brawlers MADE boxing worth watching again.
Kirkland Lang was the bollox even if he couldn't speak.
Once met Henry Cooper. Absolute gent.
But meeting Don King was something else. That man had so much charisma it ain't hard to see how he tucked up so many fighters.
All I could think when shaking his hand was he'd kicked a man to death.

Re: Your favourite boxers
Barrea and morales were two of my faves as well , morales was the better technical fighter , but i loved barrea , who can forget him smashing naz's head into the tun buckle.

I loved margaretho as well , He would die in the ring , and go to any lengths to win , obviously , taking that too far against mosley , but even that endered him to me , he's the quintessential bad guy , but plays it so well .

Quite possibly the biggest fight in the history of the sport is 6 and a bit weeks away

If you cant get up for Boxing right now you never will
